Although optimized workplaces are in everybody’s best interest and the workplace is receiving increased attention, research on support of office employees by workplace design is only showing very slow theoretical progress. Also. certain important research gaps largely remain unclarified up till now. Despite our TWR network events and other efforts towards integration of disciplines, fragmentation of the field across disciplines (e.g. psychology, architecture, real estate, economy, engineering, ergonomics) remains. Therefore, knowledge is spread over many different (micro) theories and viewpoints. In this 90 minute workshop, we will brainstorm in small groups on further advancement of research on different important workplace research gaps. In groups of 4, you will work on identifying research questions, necessary disciplines to answer them, plus relevant theories to frame these questions and potential methods of data-collection.
